The Japanese Feel
Brief: To bring the outdoor space into the home and modernise the areas, with key view lines from inside creating feature areas within the build. The design required a few Japanese themed features within to reflect on the clients love for this style.
To renew a tired-looking garden by creating multiple levels of seating areas for large family get-togethers. With busy lifestyles, low maintenance was a must, and the client wanted to create a modern garden but still in keeping with the house.
Chelsea Flower Show 2017: "Mind Trap"
This garden was built to bring awareness to mental health. The idea behind this build was towering walls leaning over a central pool of dark water with a solitary seat, showing the suffering and loneliness that can be associated with mental health. The garden was awarded a gold medal for the skill of the installation and the message it portrayed.
With a busy lifestyle, low maintenance was key in the brief. A hot tub was relocated to a more sensible location with a new bespoke oak gazebo over the top, and room for a seated area to the side. A large Millboard decked area steps down to a patio with raised beds to tackle neighbouring level changes and border planting softens the areas. Some beautiful porcelain was also installed in the main patio area to lighten the space.
The client required an entertaining space that complimented their new extension. With porcelain-clad walls, paving and a beautiful bespoke water feature, the main area was to be transformed into a chic patio to enjoy hosting family and friends. The top area, featuring curved pathways and clever planting, also introduces a softer and more traditional garden for the client to enjoy.
Hill Farm House
The brief was to soft-landscape this large garden to create a space for the family to use with football area, kitchen garden, large planted areas, patio/dining space and a large wildflower meadow to the rear. This is one of the most intensively-planted gardens we have worked on and the impact came from the development of a wildflower and herbaceous haven of planting.
The Escape Room
The brief: to maximise the space in this small garden with a growing family. We create areas for playing in, and for the family to relax in, as well as introduced more shelter, all designed around a modern raised Koi fish pond. Varying levels gave the client the impression of more space, and we sectioned the garden into clear areas of entertainment.
The Tiered Garden
The brief: To address the level difficulties after building works to the new pool house were completed. We created a large area outside of the poolhouse leading from the house and patios to enjoy the views. A complex maze of steps leads through heavily-planted borders into the lower garden where a softer, more formal landscape awaits.
Castle Dairy Farm
The brief - to create a landscape with the impact that the beautiful property deserved! A long, flowing patio bordered by stone walling to give the feeling of a more secluded space surrounds the house, with winding pathways leading to the lower garden featuring sweeping lawns broken by formal planting borders. The pathways lead to a large pond installation with a cascading waterfall and beach area, plus a jetty to enjoy the views in every direction.
The Guest Room
The client's brief was for a total garden revamp, with a modern outdoor space catering for large parties and relaxing with family. A fully integrated BBQ and kitchen area, custom seating and firepit area and a large patio with bespoke water feature made up the bulk of the project.
The Granite Garden
The brief: To create a modern and spacious area outside of the newly-refurbished property for a large family to enjoy, with varying levels of paving to accommodate large furniture sets, an outdoor kitchen area, a new lawn and sunken trampoline. We used straight lines for a contemporary feel and colour tones that tied to the internals of the property.
